Asan Barash was born on October 2nd 1962 in Tashkent,
Uzbekistan.
1978 through In 1982 he attended Benkov Art School
in his home town. In 1989 graduated with an MBA from the School
of Fine Arts in Tashkent.
Asan paints in oils, on large canvases; so large
that sometimes his finished work has to remain in the studio,
as it is too massive to fit through the building door.
Asan is one of the most talented members of Krim
Art League. His works are displayed in Israel, Switzerland, Germany,
Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Since 1986, Asan's highly metaphorical creations
attract public attention and impel viewers to endlessly ponder
their symbolic imagery. Asan attempts comprehend and portray the
reality through grotesque and ironic interpretations of everyday
subjects, giving them startling and unexpected quality.
The paradox of Asan Barash is that his expressive,
avant-garde images are unexpectedly filled with tenderness and
poetry, making it impossible to forget them, drenching our minds
in sad irony, forcing us to question ourselves and our world.
